Meet the Team
The team of Bamboo Dan is comprised of the CEO, who with over a decade of experience teaching at various educational institutions and has counseled hundreds of Japanese students through problems in class, studying abroad, and even familial issues. A team was assembled of health care and student support professionals from across the city where the test run and research and development will be tried. Health care professionals, including registered nurses, school counselors, and government-funded support staff have all agreed to work together on the project to help it grow. All staff members, regardless of their work background, will attend a mandatory week-long webinar so that the goals, expectations, and privacy rules necessary to make this project succeed will be fully comprehended by all assisting parties. Municipal and prefectural governments have agreed to support the startup financially, and we are in talks with other cram schools to join the Bamboo Dan experience to help with study support (in return, they are able to use their own materials and teaching methods to potentially gain business to their institutions directly by students). If the trial run is successful, the program will be spread across the city at all secondary education institutions, and will also apply for a support grant by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) with aims for national implementation. Talks have already begun at the municipal and prefectural levels for support by local businesses and institutions, yet further investment is needed to grow.
